TREATMENTS and DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS
Our staff will identify an individualized treatment after your initial physical evaluation and will continually reassess the regiment to customize it to your changing needs.
Patients are usually started on a multi-modality muscle relaxation regiment tailored to their needs. This will be followed by chiropractic manipulation and a combination of stretching and strengthening exercises. Our treatment will reset your system, but it is also our priority to help you minimize and prevent relapse. As part of your treatment you will receive individualized guidance on how to improve your lifestyle and work ergonomics.
The therapy goals are organized in the following tiers.
The therapy goals are organized in the following tiers.
- Stabilize and prevent further loss of function
- Improve function
- Maintain gains in function
- Implement lifestyle changes to safeguard relapse
Chiropractic
|
Chiropractic therapy encompasses a variety of specialized techniques and styles which are all used to correct misalignments referred to as subluxations and restore physiological joint function. Subluxations can vary in severity and can be caused by a variety of factors, from automobile accidents and over-use, to psychological factors, chemical imbalances and birth trauma. The most common category of misalignments are vertebral subluxations causing back pain, loss of sleep, weight changes, loss of energy and motivation, changes in emotional state. Our team will identify the underlying cause of your discomfort and will employ the appropriate combination of chiropractic modalities to help your case.

Nerve Conduction Velocity (NCV)
|
Nerves allow sensation and control muscle movement. Healthy nerves conduct electrical signals faster and with greater intensity than damaged nerves. This specialized procedure uses skin electrodes to measure how well signals travel along a nerve and how long it takes muscles to respond to those signals. Measurements taken during this procedure allow us to determine damage to the myelin sheath, surrounding the nerves, or damage to the nerve axons. This evaluation is used to diagnose various different muscle and neuromuscular disorders. For example, the readings from this test allow the doctor to distinguish between a pinched nerve and a nerve disorder. This test is very safe and the patient minimally fells the electrical stimulation.

Cold Laser Therapy
|
Cold laser therapy uses a non-thermal beam of light near infrared wavelengths to deliver energy to tissues deep below the skin. The energy delivered boosts cellular energy capacity and health by affecting mitochondria and other intracellular processes (Hashmi et al, 2010). The overall effect is tissue regeneration and protein synthesis resulting in decreased pain, decreased inflammation and increased range of motion. Cold laser therapy is usually delved over multiple sessions, with treatment durations varying from seconds to minutes depending on condition. This therapy modality is used routinely to alleviate pain and promote healing of sport and auto injuries.
|
Ultrasound therapy |
Ultrasound waves travel through matter by causing vibrations at frequencies above those perceived by the human ear. As these ultrasonic vibrations pass through tissues they cause internal friction and production of deep heat at depths reaching 4 cm or more. The vibrational effects of ultrasound can benefit muscle and nerve tissue health at multiple levels by increasing blood flow, removing exudates, decreasing muscle spasm and pain relief.

Medical Massage Therapy
|
Our chiropractic treatment integrates medical massage therapy to maximize therapeutic results. This type of therapy uses advanced massage methods to target specific areas increasing blood circulation, and tissue flexibility. Medical massage utilizes various techniques including trigger point treatment, healing stretches and deep tissue. It can be integrated to address several conditions ranging from sports, auto and work-related injuries, back and neck pain, surgery healing and TMJ to headaches, migraines and pregnancy pains.

Acupuncture
|
During acupuncture treatments very fine needles are gently inserted at specific points on the body to stimulate specific beneficial responses. The specific points targeted by acupuncture are selected based on the condition of the patient and stimulate the nervous system to ultimately relief pain and reduce swelling. The process allows natural healing to take place and can be readily combined with chiropractic for treating both traumatic and static injuries. Chiropractic is readily combined with acupuncture to augment acupuncture results. Our experienced associates can integrate treatment to address specific patient needs.

Electroceutical Therapy (Horizontal Therapy)
|
Horizontal therapy is a sophisticated form of electrotherapy which combines electrical muscle stimulation, TENS therapy, interferential therapy and microcurrent therapy into one. It can effectively stimulate both peripheral nerves to provide pain relief, and motor nerves to facilitate muscle re-education. Horizontal therapy increases local blood circulation, relaxes muscle spasms and prevents or retards tissue atrophy. The beneficial properties of horizontal therapy can be employed for the management and symptomatic relief of chronic pain, for the adjunctive treatment of post-surgical and post-traumatic pain.

Physical Examinations |
In addition to individualized treatment regiments our doctors are also certified to offer Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examinations. This specialized exam is required for commercial motor vehicle drivers.
